Since 2024, Lansing Restaurant Week has been a grassroots celebration of the restaurants we keep coming back to and the dishes we can’t get enough of, organized each year to coincide with 5/17 Day (our local holiday celebrating Lansing and everything within our 517 area code).

After the success of our 2026 Lansing Restaurant Week, we collected feedback from our participating restaurants. A key takeaway was the desire for an additional price point within the weeks’ deals. Introducing an optional $17 meal deal (in addition to the required $7 dish and optional $5 drink deal) allows for a wider variety of our region’s eateries to participate without being spread too thin.

Another piece of feedback we received? Waiting a whole year for the next Restaurant Week to come around would be a real drag. 517 Living just so happened to reach out around this time to let us know about 517 Living Community Week. We spent some time brainstorming what we could do with our powers combined, and realized that hosting another Restaurant Week to coincide with 517 Living Week was a bit of a no-brainer.

Our goal with 517 Community Restaurant Week is to show some love to our region’s restaurants by:

• Encouraging the community to make a point of supporting their favorite eateries
• Giving people the push to try that one spot they’ve been meaning to (because we’ve all got one)

Lansing is a community that shows up for each other, and these price points exist so everyone can be part of the celebration — because great food doesn't have to break the bank. And when you dine out during 517 Community Restaurant Week, 100% of profits stay with the restaurants who make this city worth eating in.
